Trap - Neuter- Return Team

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a humane way to help control the growing number of homeless cats living on the street. Cats are trapped using humane traps. They are then transported to the spay/neuter clinic, where they will be fixed, vaccinated, and given a flea treatment. They will also have the tip of their left ear clipped, so they can be visually identified as having already been fixed and vaccinated. Any obvious medical issues requiring care will also be treated. After a brief recovery, the cats will be returned to their outside home.

TNR improves the lives of the cats in our community. In addition to preventing unwanted litters from being born on the street, cats will live more harmoniously with each other. Males typically stop spraying to mark their territory, and will no longer fight viciously over territory and females. Spaying/ neutering also has health benefits such as reducing the occurrence of certain cancers and passing Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) or Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) on to other cats while fighting or mating.
